School board meeting Wednesday night to include talk of creating solar committee
This despite parts of six meetings in the last year and a half where it was explored extensively
The May COW meeting of the Exeter Township school board will not contain a lot of surprises in their discussions, except for an item concerning creating an ad hoc committee to explore the district using solar power.
.This is being bandied about despite six meetings in the 2022-23 school year containing items to discuss and eventually deny a proposal by Greenworks Development of Harrisburg, which would have put a solar array in two spots on district properties. The board also discussed a proposal at last month’s voting meeting from Trane which was similar to Greenworks, but had different features, and cost roughly half. There didn’t appear to be great enthusiasm for yet another protracted discussion by the school board.
The group will also discuss hiring the Fox Rothschild law firm “to provide general human resources, employment, labor relations, and personnel advice to the Exeter Township School District.” The firm will charge between $260 and $300 per hour, depending on the service performed.
They’ll be talking about a new rate structure for their general counsel, Sweet, Stevens, Katz, Williams. In SSKW’s proposal, they too list human resources, employment and labor in services performed, at a cheaper rate of $200-$220 per hour.
The rest of the meeting will contain much of the normal discussion to approvals that come up at this time of year, such as extended summer contracts for employees, a per diem for a specific number of days, the food service budget as well as the new cost of meals.
The meeting will take place Wednesday night at 6 PM at the school administration building.
